Why did you start startupjUNKiE? Why now? “It was such an easy decision for me to start this company! I am constantly approached by women asking me for business advice and sharing their feelings of frustration that a business resource doesn’t exist for them. I wanted to start startupjUNKiE because I have all of these valuable insights to share from my experiences of starting several companies and successfully branding two, and feel like it is a good time for me to ‘give back’ to the community in a more meaningful way. Additionally, developing a community of like-minded entreprenesses fuels my soul and motivates me to improve my abilities… I can’t imagine that being part of it wouldn’t do the same for other women.” How is startupjUNKiE different than other entrepreneurial/business education and services companies? “The short answer is…. Our educational programs and business development approaches are founded to support and inspire the way women think and work. That said, this simple question really requires me to give a more complicated answer… Virtually every other business resource in the U.S. has been developed or fundamentally influenced by men, and advances their thinking and approach to business -- they have simply been in business longer, so they were the first to have learning’s to share (as recently as 1974 women weren’t able to hold credit in their own names in some states let alone start a business). Add to that the numerous scientific, sociological, and cultural studies that show how women and men think, work, and are motivated differently”:

We understand and respect that, and have developed our more advanced programs to ensure that you maximize this valuable time. We provide you with the tools, focus, accountability, and resources necessary to give you the expertise you need to move your business to the next level.” “Our menu of services has a variety of options that are designed to help the seasoned entrepreness in any stage of growth. Our salons, Think Tank, and individual services provide a variety of approaches that ensure meaningful solutions and support for an entrepreneurial enterprise of any size… You can choose what will work best for you and your business.” Why do I need a business plan? “You need a business plan the same way you need a roadmap -- to ensure that you arrive at your intended destination knowing where you came from. A business plan allows you to apply your intuition to building a business strategy while maintaining the perspective needed to make critical inter-related decisions. It doesn’t look the same for everyone or every business, and should be developed organically to suit your personality and needs. Most importantly, a business plan gives you a thorough step by step pathway to success from which you can found and grow your business.” Why do I need to build my Brand?
