Whitney Keyes, Public Relations Powerhouse
Often referred to as “Ms. Robin Hood,” Whitney Keyes is known for helping growing businesses make a positive impact with tight budgets and limited resources. Whitney blends her small business, corporate, government, and non-profit experiences to help her clients find creative ways to market themselves and tell their stories to get results, whether they need to increase sales, build partnerships, change an image or generate "buzz." Whitney is an engaging, collaborative and inspiring consultant. She speaks internationally, teaches, and writes columns and articles.
For over 15 years, Whitney has worked in media relations, marketing, communications, and business management. She spent six years working at Microsoft as a senior communications and product marketing manager where she helped develop business strategies for many of Microsoft's campaigns including the world-wide launch for Microsoft Office 2000, an $8 billion dollar business. She served as a company spokesperson and personally briefed senior executives, including Bill Gates, for media interviews. She also helped create the company's first Corporate Social Responsibility report.
Before joining Microsoft, Whitney managed PR and marketing for the City of Tacoma's (WA) Neighborhood Business District Revitalization Program. In this role, she helped develop put Tacoma on the map by launching some of the City’s first business district community events. She also coached 100’s of small businesses on how to improve their marketing and business strategies. Whitney also spent many years managing the day-to-day business for her family's retail art store.
Whitney is active in her local community. Over the years, she has volunteered with numerous organizations and is currently on the board of Dress for Success Seattle/YWCA. Whitney holds a B.F.A. degree in Journalism and Public Relations.
